Hello Chester

I've just received the wonderful news from Alison of your fantastic time together and, of course, your engagment! Congratulations to you both! I worked with Alison before coming here to Canada to be with John permanently in April 2005, I'm sure Alison has told you our romantic story :o)) Alison is one of the nicest people I know, she has a good heart, and I'm happy to know she has found a great guy to share it with. We are just north of Toronto, Chester, so we're virtually neighbours - compared with Cyprus at least! John and I would love to come visit you and Alison when you're together again and you will always be welcome to come and experience some Canadian hospitality up here. John and I are cracking open a Molson Canadian beer to toast happy times ahead to you both, cheers! Love Alex & John xxx

:) Hi Alex!
Thank you for your post! and your toast! :)
Well I think I have to thank you too for persuading Alison to go online in the beginning! ;) She has told me much about you, yes of course your romantic story and I am happy for you both as well! Oh you're right, Canada seems like a day-trip compared to Cyprus! LOL Well it would be wonderful to meet you both, hopefully it's not too far in the future. Thnak you again for sharing in our happiness. Tkae care and hope to speak soon.
Chester & Alison :) Oh love to see our names written side by side!

You must have been desperate!!!! (JOKE) Ha ha ha

I remember when Alison first went on to Christian Mingle just for a look. Seems like such a long time now. What a fantastic outcome though hey!

I hope you have a happy healthy life together god bless.

Hello to all who are tuned in: I am Chester "Mum", Jane, and I have to tell you I could not be happier than to have Alison enter Chester's life. She is one of the dearest people I have ever met. AND, she shares a glass of wine with me at a call !!!. I dearly love her. So share in their joy and know that these two people were destined to meet.

You are all invited to come to see beautiful North Carolina. But give me a days notice and we'll put out the biggest welcome mat you've ever seen..

Best wishes to all who have sent their congratulations.

Chester and Alison,
It was such a pleasure meeting Alison while we were at Dad's for Memorial Day. Chester you have been close to my heart since you were born and I am so excited for both of you. Now that you are heading for Cyprus, maybe the mountains of NC won't seem like such a daunting journey and the two of you can visit Jon and I.
With much love and congratulations,
Pat

Hi Chester, it's Pete Ioannou again from 3D Global, Cyprus, just a note about your packing !
Dont forget to bring a couple of pairs of shorts and some for swimming also, plenty of t.shirts with short sleeves, flip flops, sun glasses, shaving equipment, mobile phone or as you call it cell phone LOL ! Oh! and of course yourself.

Best regards,

(Kojak) as they call me in the office for obvious reasons!

Hey there Chester,

My list is a bit different to Peter's, so here goes!

3 days before you travel pop to the beauty shop and get a wax on your back, sack and crack - i know it will be sore, but it will be well worth it when you get a red thong on!!

Only joking, just bring yourself that is the most important thing to have here!!

PS - i will be in trouble from Alison when she sees this, oopppsss!

See you in 42 days time.

Mike said...

42 days

Forty two was my number in h.s. basketball. The other team's fans and cheerleaders had a cheer (they did a LOT) when I'd foul

"It's on you, 42, it's on YOU!"

Anyway, 42 days.

garazon said...

Its geeting closer! 41 days now! I haven't been this excited about anything before. Even beats that feeling when you're a kid counting the days to Christmas! Mike I was saying that all day at work yesterday.. well not the cheer.. ;) but saying "42 days to go!"

Pete if I was to put on shorts there the reflection of the sun off my pale white legs would blind anyone within a half a mile! LOL
I'm pretty much thinking I'll have my beard back by then too, so I may skip the shaving equipment! Although if I I somehow lost my mind and senses and followed Dee's suggesetion I may need it for a touch up! LOL Well somehow I just dont see that happening! Dee what can I say... better I not comment on the thong! Shorts are bad enough on me! LOL

Thanks for posting and being here with us! we appreciate all of you sharing in our excitement!

Chester and Alison

Hello this is Maureen, Alisons mam it's the first chance I have had to congratulate you both. It would have been nice to have had our holidays while you were over but maybe we will be able to meet in the not to distant future and I hope the two of you will be very happy. Love and best wishes Maureen & Jack.

garazon said...

Hi Maureen And Jack!
It's so nice to hear from you, thank you so very much for the congratulations and for posting. :) There is not a doubt in my mind at all that we will be extraordinarily happy together! I do hope and pray its not in the too distant future that we get chance to meet, I am looking forward to it! Alison has all along sent your kind regards. And I feel in many ways I have met you already as Alison has shared a lot of pictures and speaks of you and her dad often, and one of my favourite pictures is from last summer when you were there to visit, your and her were there by the seafront raising a "cheers" with the coke can! :) I had actually hoped ot time my visit to be there when everyone else was there for the wedding, but with alison being tied up that time of the month with the valuations at work as well as the wedding we thought it would be better to push it back a week, and then I rmemebered that my granddaughters birthday fell on the 7th and I didnt want to mis it. I am already in the doghouse for forgetting my soninlaws birthday as it is! ;) so anyway we set the 9th for trip. We didnt know then when the dates were for you all coming, well I think we will just miss each other by a couple of days.. But I am sure in the not too distance future we will manage to get together and I truly look forward to it. :)
Thank you again for posting and your best wishes for us. Take care and we will speak soon.
Love & thanks, Chester

Mike said...

The days are down to single digits.

Mike said...

7 days make one weak.

garazon said...

and it makes one crazy too! This is going to be the longest week I have ever had in my life I think! I want to be there NOW! :)

Mike said...

Gosh, I'M getting nervous about it all.

You like to fly? I love it; they could fly across the Atlantic upside-down and suit me just fine. It'd be better if they'd let me fly it a while.

Just curious: Is it "Si-priss" or "Sigh-press" or some other variation?

garazon said...

My knees are weak and my mind is shot now. Well maybe it's the other way 'round... lol
Hell I'm going to have to take that xanax before the weekend at this rate! I'm so excited now and the closer it gets the more I cant concentrate on the least little thing. Well its a very happy excited! :)

You know the truth is I have never set foot on a plane before, but if it gets me to Alison I know I am going to love flying! :)

I have just always pronounced it "Sigh-press" as thats the way I ahve mostly heard it growing up. Since I've met Alison though I think I have heard 10 different pronounciations of it. well all just variations on the couple you mentioned. Alison has that Geordie accent to begin with and having lived there now for 20+ years she has some of the local dialect too so hers is maybe a bit more to "Sih-prus" And then you have the Greeks calling it "Kip-ros" or somthing similar to that with the K sound as the name is Kypros in Greek Oh I've come across it called a few differnt names ove the last 18 months of searching online for info... Kypros, Cyprus,
Zypern, Chypre, Cypern, and Cipro! Same with the village and city names, theres the Greek/Cypriot name and then the English name of places both widely used now. For example Alison lives in what was originally called Lemesos and then the English version Limassol came into use and now I think there is a push to go back to the original names. Well I'm glad she's coming to pick me up from the airport as I dont know if I could tell a taxi driver where to take me that he would understand! lol

Well I have today off to get things all sorted, then my last day of work is Saturday and I'll use Sunday to finish my packing and triple check to see if I have everything I need to take.. which really isnt much, long as I have the passport and tickets and my visa check card I'm set! LOL I cant believe its almost here now. I miss her like crazy. :)

Alison said...

Spot on Mike...well the Sigh part is right , but the end of the name is prus rather than press ! so it is Sigh-prus ....lol,
I think we have half of our home towns as excited as us, its wonderful so many are counting down with us and wishing us a great time together, well I miss Chester like crazy dont think Im letting him go back to The States after 10 days !!

Must be nearly time for your trip too , well I wish you a great time , and I know you are a great photographer so im sure we will see some good pics when you get back posted on your site , I would love to see some from Normandy. well dont forget your umberella and Long Jons its freezing over the other side of that pond you know ; ) that why I stay in Sigh-prus !
Have a great weekend
